Cardiac SurgerySince performing one of the first open-heart operations in Central Massachusetts nearly 50 years ago, the Division of Cardiac Surgery at Saint Vincent Hospital has been a leader in providing the highest quality care to patients requiring open-heart surgery. Under the leadership of Robert Bojar M.D., the Division has ranked among the best in operative outcomes in Massachusetts over the past decade.
Dr. Bojar, Director of Cardiac Surgery, has established a reputation as an outstanding clinical surgeon with a keen interest in medical education. He spent nearly 20 years as an academic surgeon at Tufts Medical Center, where he was actively involved in training residents and fellows to become Cardiac Surgeons and is the author of a textbook on adult cardiac surgery published in 1991 and a widely acclaimed book entitled “Manual of Perioperative Care in Adult Cardiac Surgery”. Dr. Bojar and his associates work very closely with a dedicated team of specially trained physician assistants in cardiac surgery who provide individualized, personal care to our patients 24/7. We work closely and communicate with each patient’s cardiologist, primary care physician and family to ensure optimal care and patient satisfaction during the hospital stay and after discharge. |
